March 2014...Red Mountain

A totally new hike that we have never attempted until now.  It started out a bit rocky but smoothed out and turned into a sandy trail.  We went to the end of the Red Mountain Trail and came back to a self-made campsite with amazing views.  See photos below.

Almost got everyone in the photo??                                            View from camp

2014 Stake Pow-Wow Camp Out

Well, it was a Stake-wide camp, but...Troop 1812 was the only one that attended. Why??? Well, it rained and rained and then the wind blew about 30 miles per hour.  As you can see by the photos, camp was trashed a bit by the wind.  The scouts had fun and were tougher young men for enduring the wind and rain.  Scouts also worked on rank requirements using EDGE method as well as signed off on some Map and Compass skills.

A nice warm fire and a bit of fireworks from the fire.

Camp a little trashed...oh and that is everyone sleeping under that blue tarp

Working on the archery merit badge.
