Gunlock Campout (October 2013)

What a great trip!  We camped out in our favorite Gunlock red rock slot canyon/wash. We completed the swimming merit badge for all those who attended...NICE JOB SCOUTS!!  Following the merit badge, we had a great campfire program with the message of being kind to one another; there was an update on Elder and Sister Call, what they are learning on their missions, and how we can apply these lessons in our life.  The next day we wen kayaking on Gunlock reservoir.  We found out that going straight was not as easy as it looked. All in all, it was a great, productive and spiritual campout.

50 Mile Hike (July 2013)

Sorry about the delay on getting this posted. The 50 mile hike didn't go exactly as planned and we had to make some detours due to overgrown trails.  I would like to start by saying how amazingly tough the young men were during the hike; we ran into detours, rain, more rain, cold, difficult terrain, and a couple of snakes. . I have hiked a great deal over the years, and this hike was in the top three as far as difficulty.  We had a couple of days that were 15 plus miles over some pretty rough terrain. Through it all, the young men pressed on through it all....I am very proud of them for this accomplishment.  Here are a few photos of the hike...not totally in order.
