Red Cliffs, Oak Grove, Rain and Rappelling!

The plan was to chill, cook dogs tell stories and rappel.  Well...we chilled due to the cold rain and wind. Dogs for dinner and donuts for breakfast; it doesn't get any better than that! We woke up in the morning and hiked up a small canyon and rappelled. So, what I thought was a short 30 foot decent on the 1/2 inch rope turned out to be about 80 feet.  After a little bit of climbing, a short climb, everyone took off on their first rappel...awesome job guys!!  We all had a great time and are excited for another opportunity to rappel. Sorry about the limited photos, I forgot my SD card for my camera so had to run off of internal memory.

Zion East Rim Trail October 2014

Kind of mixed emotions on posting this since this hike will be my last one as Scoutmaster for Troop 1812.  East Rim Trail is no doubt not a trail for the weak at heart or mind. Those of you who completed this hike should be proud of yourselves for completing it.  Doing hard things such as this hike makes you stronger now and in the future.  Below are a few of the photos of some amazing young men and amazing scenery.

Gunlock September 2014

The traditional kayak trip to Gunlock reservoir.  Hotdogs, pancakes and PBJ...it doesn't get any better than that.  We packed up the kayaks and headed to the reservoir to play, paddle, and cliff jump.  We all had a great time; check out the photos below.

April 2014 Red Cliffs Reserve

The seasons are changing and time to hike, climb, and play in the water. Here are some photos of the annual Red Cliffs camping adventure. We said so-long to the old Klondike Derby sled and gave it a good send off.
